- Congratulations on the great attendance at the Spring Sports Meeting! The JV had 100% attendance and the Varsity was missing just a few. Girls Soccer is also one of the only teams with almost 100% of forms turned into the Athletic Office. Thanks to all for making it a great start to the season.

Lake Orion Tournament Game Report (3/21)
Varsity:
The soccer season officially started this past weekend in Lake Orion with three scrimmages. It was a rough start for the Lady Mavs, but they played against some strong teams. Milford lost their three tournament scrimmages, first against Lake Orion (3-0) and Bay City John Glenn (4-0).
In the playoff bracket, Milford started to show their offensive control with many runs against Lake Orion, and used their defense and good goalkeeping from Angie Pasciolla to shut down Lake Orion's attacks. But Milford was unable to get a score in regulation time, ending at 0-0 and they went to a shootout. Milford scored 4 goals in the shootout by juniors Co-captain Tess Zasuwa, Adrien Allward and Hayley Bensek, and sophomore Max Howard, but Lake Orion scored 5 for the win.
JV:
In the Lake Orion tournament, the JV lost their first scrimmage against a strong Lake Orion team, 6-0. Then, they stepped up and won a shootout scrimmage over Bay City John Glenn. In their victory, Tri-captain Paige Miller scored her first goal of her high school career in the first half, but BC was able to tie the score with 5 minutes to go in regulation time. In the shootout, Milford sealed the victory with goals by Alex Petersen, Megan Darby, and Erin Winn. . . all first goals as Milford Mavericks. The Mavs lost their playoff scrimmage to West Bloomfield, 4-0.
